| running the car's voltage is higher than when off. About 11.6v DC off and 13.9v or so when the engine is running. The only thing that comes to mind that's different about the car's conditions. Maybe the higher voltage causes the antenna motor to spin a bit faster and that binds the drive gear that lifts the antenna? I'd take apart the antenna gear assembly apart, inspecting, cleaning an re-lubricating (when I replace a mast I've always done this - on more than one car). Then test it before fully re-installing in the car. Might just require this fix or could be a whole replacement?
